Ready to start your own online store? There are may benefits to the internet. People have constant access to your store, anytime, anywhere. People can see all your products and search them. People can easily complete the purchase, from home or work.

Introduction

Running an online store is not simple. First, you need to assemble your products, and have the store site developed. Then, you need to detirmine how you will take payments, shipping policies, taxes, and more. We will help you and walk you through this process, making it as easy as possible.

The Products

Lets start with the products. Your customers are coming to your store to purchase them, and it is important that they find what they want. You can start out without many products and keep adding them as they come, however, the customer may not find the product they want. We can help you decide what products you want to begin with, and what products you will add later; you don't need to add all your products!

Payments

Accepting payments can be very simple, or more complex. You want to accept the most standard methods of payment, and you can optionally accept more. The more the better, especially because this is where the customer can be turned away. We'll set you up with Credit and Debit card processing, Bank wire, and check payment options if you like.

Taxes

As always, taxes come into play with any business venture, online or offline. However, currently you only need to pay sales tax or GRT on transactions within your state.

Let's take New Mexico. Depending on where you are based, you will pay that tax rate (for example, Albuquerque is 7.0% as of 2010). If your customer is located in New Mexico, the tax will be added to the purchase amount. If your customer is not based in New Mexico, they will pay no tax. We will set this up for you, so everything is calculated automatically.

Shipping

Shipping policies and cost is very important for an online store. You can select different rates for the number of items, total item weight, or by other methods such as purchase amount in dollars. The shipping rate will then be calculated automatically, and the customer will be presented the shipping cost for the purchase.

Here is an example shipping rate table:

1 - 5 items$5.00
6 - 10 items$8.00
11 - 15 items$10.00
16 or more items$15.00

Back Office

You can track everything in the Back Office. This portal is only visible to you, and once you log in, you will see everything about your store, including customers, invoices, sales, and more.

We can set up the Back Office so you can add or remove products yourself, view statistics about your sales, change shipping policies and rates and anything else. We will also walk you through the back office and explain each feature in detail so you know exactly how to operate your store.
